News:
At times on Paper Trail, listeners will find a remorseful Clifford Harris who has learned from his mistakes and is intent on growing as a man and an artist. He commiserates with graceful articulation on "Dead and Gone," which features Justin Timberlake. There are no girls, no dancing and no name-brand liquor on this track. The song reflects on a major revelation: It's OK for the King of the South to sometimes take a step back and put his brash on freeze. But how do you swallow your pride when that very pride is one of the integral fabrics of your character?
Salad
Salad was a UK-based pop music group that included Dutch vocalist/keyboardist Marijne van der Vlugt, bassist Pete Brown, drummer Rob Wakeman (ex-Colenso Parade), and guitarist Paul Kennedy. In 1996, Charley Stone (later of Gay Dad) joined the band as a live guitarist, keyboard player and backing vocalist. Thanks to van der Vlugt's amiable, joyous stage presence (along with her notoriety as a video jockey for MTV Europe), Salad gained a reputation as an energetic power pop band comparable to other bouncy outfits like Sleeper and Elastica. They started performing as The Merry Babes but changed to Salad in 1992 when Pete Brown was recruited on bass. Salad released two full length albums, namely 1995's Drink Me and 1997's Ice Cream as well as an 11-track compilation of their first three singles titled Singles Bar before being dropped by Island Records and ultimately disbanding in 1998. Despite being bracketed as part of the Britpop scene in terms of sound, they never quite received the same amount of attention given to their peers.Van der Vlugt now writes and sings with Cowboy Racer, whose song "Yellow Horse" recently featured on the hit U.S. television show, Grey's Anatomy. Rob Wakeman and Pete Brown now run the popular viral collection site, BoreMe. Charley Stone now plays guitar with Spy51 and did some live dates with Fosca in Sweden in March 2008.
